Rhode Island 

Product Liability:  Three (3) years from date of purchase for use or consumption.

Personal Injury (Caused by Negligence):  Three (3) years from when claim accrues. A two (2) year limitation period governs a wrongful death action.

Statute of Repose:  Although a ten (10) year statute of repose is on the books for product liability actions, the statute was declared unconstitutional in Kennedy v. Cumberland, 471 A.2d 195 (R.I. 1984) and has not been enforced since.

Accrual Rule:  Statute begins to run when the injured party discovers, or through reasonable diligence and intelligence should have discovered, the injury that is the subject of the cause of action (Discovery Rule Based)
